I wanted to bring you together today to tell you
about a covert operation that we've conducted in the last few weeks.
It's not possible.
An attempt was made by an American whistleblower to sabotage our operation
and expose you all to great danger.
I'm happy to say that three of our operatives
worked together in London and Barcelona
to eliminate the threat and retrieve the intelligence.
Mia, Jules, Sandy, please step forward.
Sandy took out the whistleblower with expert skill,
Jules neutralized the intended recipient of the intelligence,
and Mia went deep undercover within the operation that tried to bring us down,
at great risk to herself,
and destroyed them.
However, this operation did not come without a cost.
Leo Garner was killed in action in Barcelona.
And Clemency Jones also sacrificed her life.
Both are mourned and celebrated here today.
They have fallen...but remain with us.
They have fallen but remain.
This is Williams at 1300 hours.
I'm going to lunch. Returning at 13:55 precisely.
- How are you?
- Yeah, good, thank you. Just the usual table, please.
Thank you.
How was it, sir?
Yeah, good, thank you. Can I get the check, please?
- The bill has been taken care of. - Excuse me?
Somebody just paid.
Lucky you.
Don't leave.
Dessert is lovely here.
What?
My name is Marissa Wiegler.
You're looking at a list of targets for assassination by a rogue CIA unit.
All the other names on the list are young, politically motivated, socially conscious,
but they're civilians.
You're a CIA analyst that works across central and eastern Europe.
Why is your name on the list?
I'm not CIA.
I just work back-office at the embassy. Ethan, I know who you are.
I head up Paris station. Code Vesuvius. You can look me up.
Look...
I just do standard data trawls, some deep-drill coverage...
- Did you get involved in anything off-grid in the last two years?
Why should I trust you?
You have a girlfriend in the city.
She's expecting a child.
Consider what your best options are.
I'll call you on this phone.
Get me everything you know.
Mia, you must be really proud of yourself. - Congratulations.
- That was really cool. Thanks, guys.
Hi.
Why didn't you say something?
You know how it works, Sandy. I was just following orders.
You guys are amazing. - Thanks.
- Well, you did a damn good job.
We're gonna be here for a while.
We want to be sure that the run-up to operational green-light goes to plan.
That's fine with me.
I assume everything's ready in the Pumphouse.
We'll need full access to all CCTV.
No problem.
You didn't inform us you were sending Mia Wolff undercover.
I didn't know who to trust.
Someone in Washington leaked the target list to Gelder.
Could have been anyone.
Could have been you.
And you're sure Wiegler's dead?
Mia shot her in Barcelona. I disposed of her body.
Well, don't ever leap the chain of command again, okay?
Do they suspect us?
I don't think so.
You lie well.
Thank you.
Everything okay?
Yeah. - We have visitors.
- Yeah, I thought you might.
- Where are you?
- I'm in the Bavarian countryside. - This network is secure.
- Are you alone?
Yes, I'm alone.
I looked you up. The CIA file says you're dead.
- And we want to keep it that way.
So what do you have for me? I don't have a lot of time.
I'm sending some material through.
Two years ago, this woman flew into Vienna.
Brianna Stapleton. Said she was with covert ops in Langley.
She recruited myself and a computer programmer
I worked with to a new project.
The programmer's name?
Max Kaplan.
Our spec was to create a database of potentially subversive civilians.
People under 30 years of age who, based on current analysis,
might become a problem to U.S. interests in the future.
Max and I got access to millions of social media feeds,
emails, even school projects.
We started to generate the list.
And then what happened?
I didn't feel comfortable. We were heading way beyond the protocols.
Spying on kids as young as 13
because the CIA thought they might become dangerous in 20 years' time.
That's not what I signed up for.
So I quit.
Anything else?
I did some digging.
Turns out Stapleton wasn't with covert ops.
She was from a group called Pioneer.
It was run by one man. In her private emails,
she referred to him as the Chairman.
- The Chairman? - Yeah.
Then I got scared and stopped digging into it.
Max went back stateside, and the whole thing went quiet. That was a year ago.
Okay, good.
Do you always eat lunch at the same restaurant?
- Yeah.
If I pay for your food again, it means you may be in some danger.
Meet your partner and call me immediately.
That's her.
The visitor.
Did you know about any of this? I was given a kill list.
I didn't know how they made it. Well, now you know.
Who is the Chairman?
I don't know.
Someone in government? Public figure?
